Rain Or Shine Import Alex McLean is on the way out, leaves Araneta still wearing his uniform

Rain Or Shine have snapped a two-game slump by dispatching the Meralco Bolts 96-79 on Wednesday but reinforcement Alex McLean might be playing his last game in the PLDT Home TVolution Commissioner’s Cup.

McLean was in a rush to leave SMART-Araneta Coliseum shortly after the Elasto Painters’ victory over the Bolts.

McLean, who quietly tallied 23 points and 16 rebounds in the win, didn’t bother going inside the locker room after the game, going straight to the parking lot still wearing his uniform.

“Hindi na nga niya nagawang magpaalam kay Coach Yeng (Guiao) dahil nasa press room siya,” said a team source who requested anonymity. “Pero nagpaalam naman siya sa team.”

McLean’s status with the team is uncertain with potential replacement import Wayne Chism scheduled to arrive in the Philippines on Thursday.

Chism is supposedly the import of Barako Bull but was replaced by Joshua Dollard after he wasn’t given release papers by his Hungarian team.

But Guiao said that any decision to change imports isn’t final yet.

“We will talk about McLean’s status tomorrow, we have our options open. Our next game is on Monday, we need to decide tomorrow in practice, probably by lunchtime,” said Guiao.

But it seems that it is already certain that McLean is on the way out.

Rain Or Shine improved to 2-3 win-loss record with that victory and gives them a better chance of making it to the Playoffs in this single-round elimination tournament.
