After naming the starters for the PBA All-Star, the league have announced the reserves that will challenge the Gilas-Pilipinas national team in a friendly match.

High scoring guard Peter June Simon and all-around big man Joe Devance of the San Mig Super Coffee Mixers lead the reserves of this year’s All-Star team.

The two reliable players of San Mig joined teammates James Yap and Mark Barroca. Their coach Tim Cone will call the shots for the selection.

Both Barocca and Yap are starters for the annual event.

The Mixers foursome were part of the core of the squad that won the Philippine Cup last month.

The reserves were selected by PBA coaches.

Marcio Lassiter of San Miguel Beer, Sonny Thoss of Alaska, and KG Canaleta of Talk ‘N Text round out the all-star bench, joining starters Greg Slaughter, Mac Baracael, and Chris Ellis of Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, who were voted onto the team by fans.

They will take on the Gilas training pool composed of Jimmy Alapag, Jayson Castro, Ranidel De Ocampo, and Larry Fonacier of Talk ‘N Text; Beau Belga, Jeff Chan, Paul Lee, and Gabe Norwood of Rain or Shine; Japeth Aguilar and LA Tenorio of Barangay Ginebra San Miguel; Gary David and Jared Dillinger of Meralco; June Mar Fajardo of San Miguel Beer; and Marc Pingris of San Mig Coffee; and naturalized center Marcus Douthit.
