After another awful start, the GlobalPort Batang Pier want to end the dilemma right away and is letting import Leroy Hickerson go in the PLDT Home Telpad Governors’ Cup.

The Batang Pier had another bad start with a 1-2 win-loss record after finishing the Philippine Cup at the bottom of the standings.

In place of Hickerson, will be another familiar name in the league who has already shown stellar plays when he was still the reinforcement of Barangay Ginebra.

His name is Dion Lowhorn who is set to return in the league.

Sources from the Mikee Romero-owned franchise said the Batang Pier are bringing back Lowhorn to take the place of Hickerson, who is also a household name in the league as import.

The sources added that no other than Romero who made the decision to let go of Hickerson after the Batang Pier was massacred by Rain Or Shine, 97-119 on Sunday where Hickerson was outplayed by counterpart AZ Reid.

Hickerson, who is in his third tour of duty in the PBA, finished with 20 points against the E-Painters.

Sources added that GlobalPort has already secured clearance to tap the wide-bodied Lowhorn, who was coming off a stint with the Saigon Heat in the ABL before Ginebra brought him in.

The 28-year-old former University of San Francisco standout averaged 30.9 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 11 games for Ginebra in last season’s Governors Cup.

However, despite monster numbers from Lowhorn, the Gin Kings were eliminated at the quarterfinal stage by top seed Petron (now San Miguel Beer), who ultimately made it to the Finals but loss to eventual champion San Mig Coffee Mixers in a grueling game 7 encounter.
