Bomb, Firearms & Shabu Seized from Alleged Davao Blast Mastermind Aldulwahab Sabal

The Philippine National Police (PNP) confirmed that they seized some illegal items such as a bomb or an improvised expolosive device (IED) made from 60mm mortar round, an M16 Rifle, 2 pieces of caliber .45 pistols and 12 sachets of shabu  from the possession of the alleged mastermind of Davao Blast, Talitay, Maguindanao Vice Mayor Abdulwahab Sabal.

According to the PNP the local executive of Talitay, Maguindanao, Vice Mayor Abdulwahab Sabal, his wife and two security personnel were arrested at Awang Airport in Cotabato City, on Thursday afternoon.
The Department of Justice under Sec. Vitaliano Aguirre II stated that Sabal and his group are being probed for their alleged participation on the deadly attack at Roxas Night Market in Davao City last week which cost the lives of at least 14 people and injuring around 70 innocent civilians.

Sec. Aguirre also noted that the filing of criminal charges against Sabal and his group will be finalized on Tuesday because Monday was alrealdy declared as a national regular holiday in the entire Philippines in celebration of the Muslim’s Eid’l Fitr.

DOJ clarified to the media that the charges filed against Sabal and his group are only for illegal possession of firearms, explosives and dangerous drugs because investigation for the group’s alleged involvement in the Davao Blast is still ongoing.

Vice Mayor Abdul Wahab Sabal is one of the few local executives and narco-politicians who was identified by President Rody Duterte having involved in various illegal drug trades in the Philippines.
