Biggest Cable Car Project to be Constructed in Bataan

The Province of Bataan will soon witness one of the country’s most ambitious project, the biggest-ever cable that may be installed from top of historic Mount Samat all the way down to Vista Mall and connected to the Bataan Provincial Capitol.

The cable car project could materialize after local leaders in Bataan and former Sen. Manny Villar, Chairman of the Villar Group of Companies discussed the possibility of the more or less than 20-kilometer cable car project.

According to Bataan 2nd District Rep. Joet S. Garcia, the proposed cable car project were already discussed by some government officials and the private sectors.

 Rep. Garcia noted that discussions were still underway as his brother, Gov. Abet S. Garcia, wants the cable car to be connected to the Provincial Capitol of Bataan. The provincial capitol is considered as one of the modern facility in the country which cost around P2.4 billion to build by Alloy MTD of Malaysia.

During the previous plans, the Bataan cable car project was supposed to stop at the Vista Mall, owned by the Villar Group in Barangay Central, in Balanga City, Bataan. 

The congressman also noted that the plans to extend the cable car project reaching the Provincial Capitol is feasible as he cited Medellin in Columbia as an example. In Columbia cable car is being utilized for public transportation.
