Sass Sasot Lambasts “Silent No More’s” on Accusations that Pres. Duterte Misused the Calamity Funds

One of Pres. Rody Duterte’s staunch supporter on social media Sass Rogando Sasot lambasts anonymous Page Silent No More on their accusations that the Duterte admin misused the calamity funds by slashing the budget of he NDRRMC.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction Coordinating Council (NDRRMC), is the government body that coordinates disaster management in the Philippines.

According to the source of Sasot, from someone in the know, the disaster budget of NDRRMC was being slashed and those amounts were distributed to the budgets of different agencies/departments that are members of the NDRRMC like DSWD, DPWH, DOST, DOH, DILG, DND and etc.

Each
agency has its own disaster risk reduction and management fund for 2017 for easy access and disbursements of the funds. Unlike before that it was centralized, under the Duterte admin, the budgets were allocated to component agencies for faster disaster response.

Sass Sasot also explained the formation of Malacañang Social Media
Corps, although the idea was already approved, there’s no accreditation yet for bloggers and even challenge Silent No More to undergo with the accreditation.

Here’s the Complete Statement of Sass Rogando Sasot:

Dear Silent No More (to use De Lima’s words: I know you are being funded by the OVP, but I don’t have a proof of that yet at this point).

Una sa lahat, hindi pa po na-formalise ang Malacañang Social Media
Corps. Na-approve pa lang ang idea. Wala pa pong na-accredit na bloggers
dahil wala pa pong accreditation guidelines. So strike one na iyan OVP
Paid Silent No More. Sana magpa-accredit kayo, pero baka mabuko na OVP Paid kayo?

Ikalawa, iyong calamity fund po na sinasabi ninyo? Ganire ang nangyari
OVP Paid Silent No More. Nabawasan po ang budget ng NDRRMC, ang
government body na nag-coordinate ng disaster management, at saan
napunta iyon? Na-divert po iyong na-slash doon sa agency na iyon sa
disaster risk reduction and management funds mismo ng mga department
members ng NDRRMC.

Ito po ang explanation from someone in the know:

“Regarding the disaster budget being slashed, those amounts were
distributed to the budgets of different agencies/departments that are
members of the NDRRMC like DSWD, DPWH, DOST, DOH, DILG, DND, etc.. Each
agency has its own disaster risk reduction and management fund na
pinalaki for 2017 for easy access and disbursements of the funds. Kasi
before centralized sa NDRRMC, now nasa component agencies na para mas
mabilis ang aksyon. Hindi na kailangan magpulong pa ang NDRRMC.
Makakarespond agad with the money. So technically, hindi naslash ang
budget for calamities. Nadivert lang sa agencies.”

Silent No More, sayang ang tax money na binabayad sa inyo ng OVP. Galingan niyo naman ang pag-research. :*

Nakatungtong sa tae,
Langaw Sass

P.S. To use Trillanes’ words: Prove to us you are not being paid by the OVP. Lab you!
