The President of the Republic of the Philippines, Pres. Rody Duterte claimed he was dead serious in going after the cousin of Sen. Franklin Drilon, Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog on his alleged involvement with the illegal drug trades in the city.
During the speech before the Filipino-Chinse businessmen in Cebu City, Pres. Duterte said that Mabilog’ inclusion in the narco-list had been vetted several times including his links to the conjugal drug operations of Melvin and Merriam Odicta.
The former Mayor of Davao City had blamed the Odicta couple who were gunned down last August, and the local government officials of Iloilo City headed by Mayor Jed Mabilog, the cousin of Sen. Drilon for making Iloilo as the “most shabulized” province in the country.
Pres. Duterte was quoted as saying “As early as five years ago, 40 percent of the barangay captains were
already in narco-politics. Some of them won in Iloilo and I will
repeat, Malibog, Mabilog, Malibog — pangalan niya Dito sa Iloilo karami
eh. Iyong si Odicta. Iyong mag-asawang pinatay. Huwag na tayong
magbolahan dito sabi ko sa iyo bayan ko ito eh,” said Duterte.
“If it’s just a political rift maybe I would ano, hindi masyado ako.
Kung sabihin lang ni Drilon na pulitika ka, hindi ako ganoon. Kaibigan
ko siya pero pinsan mo kasi ‘yan eh. Madidisgrasya,” Duterte added.
Pres. Duterte also revealed during his speech in Cebu City that he met narco-politicians separately last week and told them what he planned to do against them.
The tough-talking former Mayor of Davao City was quoted as saying “Sinabi ko talaga sa kanila, tang ina ninyo, huwag kayong pumasok diyan, papatain ko kayo. Either ambushin ko kayo o ipa-sniper ko kayo, banggaan ko kayo ng 6×6,” said Pres. Duterte.
