Pres. Duterte Accepts Commissioner Faeldon ‘s Resignation Replaced by PDEA’s Isidro Lapeña (Video)

The tough-talking President of the Republic of the Philippines, Pres. Rody Duterte accepted the resignation of the embattled Bureau of Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon who will be replaced by former PDEA Chief Isidro Lapeña.

Pres. Rody Duterte confirmed that Commissioner Faeldon will no longer head the BOC during the press conference to address the issue involving the death of the 17-year-old Kian Delos Santos yesterday night in Malacanang Palace.

According to Pres. Rody Duterte Lapeña’s post at PDEA will be given to the Central Luzon police head,
Chief Superintendent Aaron Aquino. Aquino, who graduated from the
Philippine Military Academy in 1985, was assigned to Davao City, where
he first met Duterte.

Despite the decision of Pres. Duterte to replace Commissioner Faeldon as head of the BOC, he noted that he still believed in Faeldon’s service to the nation.

Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon on his part released the the following statement on his resignation as head of BOC.

“My
continuous stay in the Bureau of Customs is politically polarizing the
country, so the decision of the president is for the best.

I will continue to serve our country and the welfare of the Filipino people.

I have served you to the best of my ability and I have not done any act of corruption in my entire government service.

Maraming salamat po sa inyong tulong sa ating bansa.”
