Sen. Sotto Accuses LP of Spreading Fake News Through Cocoy Dayao

Senate Majority Leader Sen. Vicente Sotto III already identified that the opposition party, the Liberal Party of the Philippines is allegedly behind the spread of fake news in the country particularly about the controversial Senate resolution on extrajudicial killings.

According to Sen. Tito Sotto the NBI-Cybercrime Division already identified the people behind the controversial blog as well as all the blogs under their care.

The Senator identified a certain Cocoy Dayao as the one who is directly involved in the alleged spread of fake news, and he is connected to the Presidential Communications Office (PCOO) under the administration of former Pres. Noynoy Aquino.

Due to the information gathered by the NBI and the identification of Cocoy Dayao as the alleged point person involved in the spreding of fake news, the Senate will invite Dayao on Wednesday, October 4, 2017.

Aside from Cocoy Dayao, the Senate also invited the presence of Thinking Pinoy or RJ Nieto as one of the resource person in the sais Senate investigation in the proliferation of fake news in the Philippines. Thinking Pinoy together with Sass Rogando Sasot were the bloggers who discovered the alleged involvement of Dayao in spreading fake news.

Sen. Sotto also noted on his latest statement that he will surely file charges against those people involved in the controversy especially if there will be senators who will be involved in the spreading of fake news through Dayao’s various websites.

The senator was quoted as saying “Libel yan, “Libel yan, hindi ko patatawarin yan nagkamali sila. Sa dami ng titirahin nila kinana nila ako ng false na balita,” Sen. Sotto stated.

Sen. Tito Sotto also believed that the identification of the people behind the malicious attacked against the President and his allies is part of the destabilization plot against the government. Sotto was quoted as saying “Palagay ko dahil pa­punta kay Duterte rin un dahil pinalalabas mga sipsip kami, pinalalabas lapdog kami,” the senator added.
