103 Lumad NPA Members Surrendered to Makabayan Batallion in Sultan Kudarat

President Rody Duterte’s call to the members of the New People’s Army (NPA) resulted some positive results after a total of 103 Lumad members of the Guerilla Front 73 who had been hiding in the boundary between the towns of Palimbang and Sen. Ninoy Aquino, Sultan Kudarat surrendered to Makabayan Batallion.

According to 33rd Infantry Makabayan Batallion last January 10, 2018, Alimaong troopers led by 1st Lt. Cesar Ballado welcomed the remnants of Guerilla Front 73 in Sultan Kudarat returned to the fold of the government.

The negotiations for the surrender of the 103 NPA rebels were initiated by the Makabayan Batallion, Marine Batallion Landing Team6 and the local government unit (LGU) of the Municipality of Sen. Ninoy Aquino.

The Makabayan Batallion in Sultan Kudarat collaborates with other military units and government agencies in its counterinsurgency campaign.

As of January 2018 a total of 103 lumad members of the Guerella Front 73, FSMRC have laid down their arms through Makabayan Batallion.
