Sen. Gordon Lauded Pres. Duterte’s Efforts of Visiting Typhoon Ompong Ravaged Areas

Senator Richard Gordon, one of the country’s most prominent lawmaker and veteran public servant lauded Pres. Rody Duterte’s efforts of personally visiting the Typhoon Ompong ravaged areas in Northern Luzon and witness the first-hand details of the recovery and relief efforts of the national government.

According to Sen. Richard Gordon, the National Chairman of the Philippine Red Cross, the efforts of the President to visit personally the provinces affected by Bagyong Ompong to personally witness the actual devastation of our fellowmen is an act of pure leadership.

With the President’s presence in various areas affected by the onslaught of Bagyong Ompong it will ensure fast and efficient distribution of relief efforts to the affected communities and it will surely prevent any delays in terms of the government’s recovery efforts.

Pres. Duterte’s promise earlier that the devastation and negligent happenedd during the onslaught of Typhoon Yolanda will no longer happen under his watch, that is why he personally handled all the government efforts with the help of his Cabinet members, the LGUs and various NGO’s.

Sen. Gordon who hails from Olongapo City and a veteran leader of the Philippine Red Cross also lauded the decision of Pres. Duterte to identify his pointman in the person of former MMDA Chief Francis Tolentino.

Pres. Duterte’s deployment of his Cabinet Members days before the onslaught of Bagyong Ompong is considered as a brilliant move for the President to control the situation and for him to receive first-hand accounts of the devastation from the ground.
