Netizen Expose the Alleged Anomalies of Sen. Bam Aquino’s Father, Paul Aquino Concerning Electricity

Concerned netizen and prominent social media personality Eric Clark Su made an interesting expose about the controversial participation of Sen. Bam Aquino’s father in the higher prices of electricity in the Philippines.

According to Eric Clark Su, the controversial Paul Aquino, father of Bam Aquino and brother of the late Ninoy Aquino was appointed by then Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo was transferred to the government-owned Philippine National Oil Company-Energy Development Corporation in 2004.




Paul Aquino allegedly orchestrated the privatization of government-owned geothermal plants, which he sold to a private company. He later resigned from his government post or government service and resurfaced as the CEO of the company that bought the geothermal plants.

Eric Su accused Paul Aquino of selling some government properties while working in the government and sold them to the company they owned.

According to some news reports, Paul Aquino still holds an important role in the private company and sits as CEO of Energy Development Corporation, which now owns all geothermal plants in the country.




For the record, the Philippines has one of the highest electricity rates in the world, considered as the highest in Asia.

Paul Aquino allegedly uses his son, Senator Bam Aquino, an incumbent senator running for the same position in 2019.

The controversial father of Bam, Paul Aquino, is the brother of prominent political families such as former senators Butz Aquino and Ninoy Aquino. His other siblings include former senator Teresa Aquino-Oreta and Lupita Aquino-Kash.
