The country’s most popular Mayor of today, Mayor Isko Moreno revealed an important antidote against crimes in the City of his jurisdiction, the antidote is providing jobs for all. He is also asked the help of the business community to help him in providing jobs for Manila residents.

According to the Mayor he remains dazed by the sudden attention he has been getting for doing what is expected of a local executive, as he promised to line up more plans to improve the lives of Manileños, including providing them with more job opportunities.

In an exclusive interview with The Daily Tribune, Mayor Isko revealed that he ased top companies to allot 70 percent of their workforce for local residents in offices located in the capital city of the Philippines.

“I don’t want to preempt things but recently, I was sitting at a dining table composed of owners of the top 10 conglomerates in the country. What an opportunity, and I gave them a good offer to put up businesses in the city,” he said.

During the said meeting with the top executives and owners of companies, Mayor Isko recounted that it was like a job interview where business officials asked questioned while he answered promptly.

I was given an opportunity to sit before owners of these conglomerates and I told them if you wanted to put up your business in Manila, I’ll provide you with incentives, but you should get 70 percent of your labor requirements from among the residents,” he said.

The former celebrity-turned-politician met with the members of the Makati Business Club (MBC), an elite organization of companies with offices on Ayala Avenue in Makati City. The members of the MBC were considered as the elite in the business industry of the Philippines.

Mayor Isko Moreno’s 70 percent requirement goes right into the Mayor’s aim of eradicating both crimes and unemployment that he believes go together. The Manila Mayor also noted that if a person goes hungry, he becomes desperate and his mind entertains desperate measures and go into “fruit picking,” the Mayor revealed.

The tough-talking Mayor of Manila said he is also following the footsteps of Pres. Rody Duterte in dealing with the rampant illegal dr**g problem in the country as his administration will work hard to make the country’s capital city narcotics-free.
