Must Watch: Sen. Bong Go Burns Rep. Edcel Lagman for Criticizing Malasakit Centers Bill

Newly-elected lawmaker and prominent ally of Pres. Rody Duterte, Senator Bong Go burned down Rep. Edcel Lagman for criticizing the Malasakit Centers operations which was accused of politicking in favor of Go.

According to Sen. Bong Go during a privilege speech in the Senate Floor, the image of Rep. Edcel Lagman is beyond repair after the congressman complaint about the alleged incomplete services provided by the Malasakit Centers in various parts of the country.




The former close-in aide of Pres. Rody Duterte explained that one of the reasons why he filed a bill institutionalizing the Malasakit Centers in the country. He noted that he acknowledged that the program may be a work in progress but definitely more Filipinos are benefiting from the said project.

“Mas marami ang natutulungan kaysa nagrereklamo. Kaysa dumada lang po tayo at sayangin ang buwis na bayad sa atin ng Filipino, magtulungan na lang po sana tayo para maipasa ang Malasakit Center Act. Gawin mas maayos ang proseso at mas marami pang Filipino ang makinabang dito.” Sen. Bong Go said.

The senator chided Rep. Edcel Lagman on his opposition with the Malasakit Center operations for allegedly being used as a political platform by Sen. Bong Go to convinced more voters to vote for him during the last election. He even accused Rep. Lagman for political maneuvering on his opposition with the Malasakit Center programs.




Sen. Bong Go was also quoted as saying “Naturingan pa man din siyang public servant, pero hindi niya pinag-aaral ng mabuti ang sinasabi n’ya. Ni hindi man lang niya iniisip na isa ang kanyang probinsya sa kauna-unahang nakinabang sa programang ito ng gobyerno.” Sen. Go stated.

The lawmaker added further that even the son of Congressman Lagman, Vice Governor Grex Lagman of Albay was present during the launching of Malasakit Center in Albay to witness the much-needed project which aimed to streamlined the various services provided for free by the national government through various institutions.

SAP Bong Go also noted that “Ano na lang ang sasabihin ng mga Bikolano kapag nalaman nila ang ang mismong Kongressman nila ang bumabatikos sa programang tumutulong sa kanila upang malunasan ang kanilang karamdaman.” Sen. Bong Go stated.
