Netizen Accuses Sen. Hontiveros of Using SEA Games Issue to Divert from Red-Tagging

A concerned netizen took to social media and accused the controversial lawmaker, Sen. Risa Hontiveros for allegedly using the SEA Games issue to divert the public away from red-tagging and CPP-NPA-NDF issues.

According to Tio Moreno, after Sen. Risa Hontiveros was slammed with facts on SEA Games issues, she continued her arguments against fellow Sen. Pia Cayetano.

Sen. Pia Cayetano fumes at Hontiveros over probe into funds for SEAG facilities. The senator stated that she was embarrassed on Hontiveros statement and for her alleged making of a political issue out of the world-class facility.

“I am embarrassed that we choose to make a political issue out of a world-class facility. Kaya tuloy wala nang mag-aabalang magpatayo ng matitino at kahanga-hangang infrastructure dito sa Pilipinas dahil magpatayo ka lang ng maganda e sasabihin na sayo na may kalokohan ka. So paano? Puro bulok na lang tayo? Para walang pumansin, gano’n?”

Sen. Risa Hontiveros responded by saying “If the good colleague had caught most of my privilege speech it probably would not have caused the good gentlelady as much distress… Maganda naman talaga yung mga facilities, nobody’s arguing against that. Ang aking mga tanong na ni-raise ay walang pagbabawas sa pagbibigay halaga natin sa ating mga atleta mula pambansa hanggang lokal.” Hontiveros stated.

The word-war between Sen. Cayetano and Hontiveros caught the attentions of some netizens, and one them is no other than Tio Moreno who shared his thoughts on really happened between Cayetano and Hontiveros.

Tio Moreno slammed Hontiveros and defended Sen. Cayetano by saying that the senator from Taguig was not fulminating. He also called Sen. Risa Hontiveros as an icon of hypocrisy.

Read the Complete Statement of Tio Moreno:

After being slammed with facts on SEA GAMES “Kikiam” issue, oppositions especially the hypocrite Risa Hontiveros is now questioning the 9.5B budget (which complied to all the stringent requirements of DBM) for the construction of the “world class” SEA Games facilities.

She even tagged this to be a “white elephant” which causes the fulmination of Senator Pia Cayetano. Let me get this straight, Cayetano was not angry with Risa probing for the budget, she’s angry with the epal senator for making it political to advance their propaganda.

Of course how will it become a white elephant if in the first place President Duterte signed into law the Republic Act 11470, which establishes the National Academy of Sports (NAS)?

Just in case you don’t know, a full scholarship program will be given to the qualified student-athletes. This includes the indigenous peoples in our country, persons with disabilities, and those who come from other marginalized groups. It’s main campus is the New Clark City Sports Complex in Capas, Tarlac.

Clearly, Hontiveros doesn’t know this because she is diverting the attention of Filipino people against the issues on red-tagging and NPAs— issues that are currently placing the Senate on fire.

We didn’t hear this woman condemning the atrocities committed by CPP-NDF-NPA. Instead, she wants to defund the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) because she believes that this agency only red-tags and spreads false information despite the many evidences they have at hand.

Imagine, she wants to cripple the agency that fights and exposes the never-ending insurgency in our country by getting their budget? Hypocrite!

She even lambasted the Senate by saying, “Todo nakafocus sa CPP at sa NPA — the remnants of an insurgency facing imminent defeat in the battlefield– pero walang angal na papapasukin sa ating bansa ang isang dayuhan bayan”—- which is a clear manifestation that she is defending terrorists.

If that is not being an NPA Enabler, I don’t know what that is.

Risa, where are you when Aquino administration messed up the DISASTER FUNDS? Funds that do not serve the peoples’ needs, only the politicians and business allies of the Aquino government?

These funds include the P20-billion ($444 million) rehabilitation supplemental budget in 2014, the P23.8-billion ($528 million) Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) allocations on disaster management, the proposed P20.5-billion ($455 million) ‘disaster pork barrel’ in the 2015 budget, and the P171-billion ($3.8 billion) proposed ‘Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Recovery Plan.

You are silent and you don’t probe those because maybe you’re one of the recipients
