Alex Gruntsev, also known as Grampo (@grampo) on Hive, founded Waivio, a groundbreaking decentralized social shopping platform built in Hive, one of the world’s most promising social media blockchains. He emerged as a trailblazer in the blockchain world, significantly shaping the future of social commerce.

Waivio: Revolutionizing Social Shopping

Waivio is a unique platform that seamlessly combines the power of social media with the convenience of online shopping. Unlike traditional e-commerce models, Waivio empowers users to participate actively in the shopping experience. Users can share products from their virtual storefronts, earn commissions through affiliate marketing, and engage with a vibrant community of like-minded shoppers and influencers.

The Social Shopping Advantage

Social shopping is a rapidly growing trend that allows individuals to control their social networks to discover, share, and even profit from products and services. Waivio’s innovative approach provides a perfect avenue for influencers and content creators to monetize their following by featuring products they love and earning commissions on sales.

The Hive Blockchain Advantage

Gruntsev’s decision to build Waivio on the Hive blockchain was strategic. Hive’s zero-fee transactions and focus on community-driven content creation make it an ideal platform for a decentralized social shopping ecosystem. Unlike traditional social media platforms prioritizing technical miners, Hive’s competition revolves around the number of likes and engagements, creating a more equitable and rewarding environment for Waivio’s users.

The Waivio Journey: From Bitcoin to Blockchain Innovation

Gruntsev’s journey into blockchain and cryptocurrency began over 15 years ago when he first encountered Bitcoin. As a technical person, he was initially skeptical of the digital currency, as he felt it was like “building the slowest database that would take the most resources and overload the network.” However, one day, he decided to delve deeper and read Satoshi Nakamoto’s white paper, which completely changed his perspective.

He was “absolutely blown away” by the agreement that one can make money and start a business without asking for permission. This was a monumental moment for Gruntsev, as he realized that to be a Bitcoin miner, one didn’t need technical expertise or access to cheap electricity, which was a common misconception. Gruntsev’s career background included serving as the chief innovation officer for the successful IT company PressReader.

He came to Canada 25 years ago and spent 18 years enjoying the ride, helping the company grow to 300 people in Vancouver. This experience as a tech industry leader gave Gruntsev valuable insights and expertise that he has now applied to build Waivio.

Waivio’s Future: Empowering the Next Generation of Social Shoppers

With Waivio, Gruntsev aims to provide a platform that enhances the shopping experience and empowers users to participate actively in the digital economy. By leveraging the power of blockchain technology and the Hive ecosystem, Waivio is poised to redefine how we think about social shopping, offering a unique and rewarding experience for consumers and content creators alike.

Waivio’s innovative model allows users to participate actively in the shopping experience, seamlessly blending social media and online retail. By enabling users to share products, earn commissions, and connect with a thriving community, Gruntsev has tapped into the growing demand for more decentralized and user-centric e-commerce solutions.

Through Waivio, Gruntsev has demonstrated his commitment to innovation, user empowerment, and the integration of blockchain technology into consumers’ everyday lives. As the platform continues to grow and evolve, Gruntsev’s influence and impact on the future of social commerce will likely become increasingly significant.
