Viral Photos: Pres. Rody Duterte Visits Wounded Soldiers in Jolo, Sulu

The tough-talking President of the Republic of the Philippines visited the Province of Jolo, Sulu on Saturday, July 15, 2017, to personally visit uniformed personnel who were injured in an encounter in Mindanao last July 8, 2017.

According to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) the soldiers visited by the 72-year-old President were injured in an encounter in Barangay Darayan, Patikul, Sulu against the Abu Sayyaf Group headed by a certain Almujer Yada.

Pres. Rody Dutete personally pinned the Wounded Personnel Medal (WPM) to 1Lt. Niño John Paner, Lt. Ian Solatre; Corporal Jeric Ghil Villaruz; Cpl. Alan Bartolome; and PFC Rhenievon Saliw-an.


Aside from the soldiers mentioned above, other members of the AFP which include PFC Jeremy Ganagan; PFC Jaifryll Tamayo; PFC Reynan Maristela; PFC Vergel Bali; PFC Polard Banggawan; Pvt. Tonie Mar Talatayud; and Pvt. John Paul Annang also received the medals from Pres. Duterte.

All the wounded soldiers are now confined at the newly completed Camp Teodulfo Bautista Station Hospital (CTBSH).

The CTBSH is among the first military hospitals that received major upgrades promised by President Rody Duterte to the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
