In a viral video posted by Commissioner Belgica on his official Facebook Page, he revealed that the PACC inspected a warehouse in Binondo after they received a corruption reports on why there’s a huge price increase of rice, there’s also shortage of rice and possible rice hoarding.
Commissioner Belgica and his team made an immediate inspection and discovered hundreds of sacks of rice inside a warehouse. The commissioner was quoted as saying “Meron daw pong shortage, pero ito po, ang dami-daming bigas, kulay dilaw pa!” Belgica revealed.

During an earlier report, Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol revealed that there’s some price manipulation conducted by some rice traders and businessman to let the public panic due to the shortage of rice nationwide.

According to the Agriculture Department, during an inspection conducted by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) they discovered some P300-million worth of rice inside a warehouse owned by an unnamed businessman.
The discovery of the BOC and DA is considered as one of the undeniable truth that there is indeed some rice manipulations to create a rice shortage and higher prices resulting to a blame game, accusing the Duterte administration of not doing its job to control the rice markets in the Philippines.
