Montenegro Defeats Gilas Pilipinas in Preparation for FIBA World Cup 2023:
NBA veteran and Chicago Bulls stalwart Nikola Vucevic led Montenegro’s national team in defeating the Philippine national men’s basketball team, Gilas Pilipinas, in preparation for the FIBA World Cup 2023.
The Gilas Pilipinas squad was no match to the European team led by Nikola Vucevic, Dubljevic, Perry, and Mhailovic, to name a few. Montenegro defeated Gilas Pilipinas with a final score of 102 for Montenegro, while the Philippines only scored 87 points.
The 32-year-old Montenegro player Nikola Vucevic scored an impressive 18 points and nine rebounds to lead his team, the Black Mountain. Out of these points, Vucevic scored 11 points in the breakaway third period.

The game against Montenegro is part of Gilas Pilipinas’ preparations for the FIBA World Cup 2023. In the first tuneup games of Gilas, they easily defeated Ivory Coast with the final score of 85-62 in favor of the Philippines.
Gilas Pilipinas is bracketed with the Dominican Republic, Angola, and the Italian national basketball team in the first FIBA World Cup 2023 competition round.
