Block Dojo Philippines Starts Incubation for Filipinos

Block Dojo, an international incubator company seeking the best early-stage startups worldwide, is now in the country as they launch Block Dojo Philippines to power up startups seeking to solve Filipino’s woes. The arrival of Block Dojo in the local crypto scene in the country will propel the Philippine startup ecosystem to further the nation’s digital transformation.

Filipino startups will now have the chance to be recognized as incubator companies and open up the potential for Filipino projects by launching the incubator program Block Dojo Philippines. According to James Marchan, executive chairman of Block Dojo, his company based in the United States will train possible partners for a 12-week intensive incubator program. After that, their partners will receive funding from their investors.

Block Dojo’s mission is to educate, train, and elevate startup entrepreneurs to the highest standards by providing best-in-class mentors and teaching their students the latest crypto industry technology. NChain technology company powers it.

The 12-week incubator program offered by Block Dojo Philippines aims to support early-stage entrepreneurs and give them a platform to showcase and improve their services, get funding from venture capitalists (VCs), and explore blockchain technology’s best-used case in every project.

Block Dojo Chairman James Marchant hopes to replicate what it successfully achieved in the United Kingdom. Since January 2022, the US-based company has incubated 41 companies, of which 90% remain operational.

Since Block Dojo launched last August 8 in the Philippines, they pooled early-stage startups to join the program that kicked off last January 8, 2024, in the province of Bataan. The launching in the Philippines is part of the company’s vision of launching at least 30 ventures in 2024.

Block Dojo has been looking for the right people to work on the ground when the program starts. They preferred to have Filipinos onboard as they know more about the local culture than non-natives in the Philippines. They are also looking for a new office in the Philippines.

Although Block Dojo typically offers incubation programs to early-stage firms, co-founder Alexander Ball said they remain open to established firms that need additional support in improving their businesses. He also noted that Block Dojo is eyeing to incubate eight to ten entrepreneurs every three months.
