Veteran blogger and prominent social media personality, Thinking Pinoy or RJ Nieto in real life made another controversial expose regarding an appeal presented by the Roman Catholic Church Archdiocese of Manila urging the SSS to exempt all employees of the Archdiocese of Manila.

According to Thinking Pinoy’s latest trivia, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila once went to the Supreme Court in an attempt to exempt itself from paying SSS contributions for its employees.

The Supreme Court denied the petition of the Archdiocese of Manila which uses an argument that it is not a for profit enterprise, despite the fact that it currently holds billions of pesos’ worth of blue chip shares, including a considerable stake at BPI, that continue to grow in value.

TRIVIA: ARCHDIOCESE OF MANILA DIDN’T WANNA PAY SSS FOR ITS EMPLOYEES UNTIL SC SAID IT SHOULD

Did you know that the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila once went to the Supreme Court in an attempt to exempt itself from paying SSS contributions for its employees?

In Archdiocese of Manila v SSS (G.R. L-15045), RCAM argued that it’s exempt from compulsory SSS coverage. The High Court denied the petition.

I find it hilarious, however, that RCAM in the said case argued that it is not a for profit enterprise, despite the fact that it currently holds billions of pesos’ worth of blue chip shares, including a considerable stake at BPI, that continue to grow in value.

A for profit organization that accidentally profits so much despite its best efforts not to, GANERN?

Before the expose of Thinking Pinoy he already hinted some issues regarding the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila (RCAM).

TP even stated “Father, hindi na ako magbibigay ng offertory. May 327 million +++ shares worth of tens of billions naman kayo sa BPI.”

Thinking Pinoy also announced earlier that “Manny Villar isn’t the richest Filipino today. It’s Cardinal Tagle, as the Archdioces of Manila is a corporation sole.”
