Bull or Bear Cebu Debate Format

The premier Web3 debate in the Philippines by Bitskwela Bull or Bear Debate will have a new format starting with the Cebu edition, according to the official announcement released by the organizers on their official social media account.

Bitskwela, the country’s leading tech education platform that aims to localize cryptocurrency education in the Philippines, successfully held three Web3 debates in the Philippines. Bull or Bear Cebu edition is also unique because, before the main event at the Ayala Mall, the organizers already conducted two side events, one on Twitter and the other in Manila.

The first Web3 debate was held in the business district of Manila at the BGC, followed by an event in the largest city in the country, Davao City. The third debate was held in the “Surfing Capital of the North,” La Union, and the fourth will be held in the Queen City of the South, Cebu City.

Here’s the New Bull or Bear Cebu Debate Format:

  1. The moderator states the debate prompt
  2. Two predetermined debaters explain their Bullish or Bearish stances in 1.5 minutes or less.
  3. Other debaters then cast their views if they’re Bullish or Bearish. They each have 30 seconds to explain.
  4. Open-discussion: Any debater may question other debaters’ arguments.

Bitskwela also noted that throughout steps 1 to 4, the general audience may cast their stance through an online voting system. Survey results will be released after each round.

The new debate format for the Cebu leg differs slightly from the previous one. For you to have a grasp of the last debate format, we have enumerated the old format below.

Here’s the Old Bull or Bear Debate Format:

  1. Speakers are given a flippable stand with green and red sides, Green for Agree, and Red for Disagree.
  2. The moderator announces the question. Speakers are given 10 seconds to decide if they agree or disagree and put the respective sign on the stand provided.
  3. Each speaker is given 2 minutes to explain their stance, from Bullish to Bearish.
  4. After everyone speaks, anyone can raise their hand and ask questions or give comments to everyone. This portion will last for around 15 minutes.
