A Manila City native, DJ Patty Tiu was born on October 11, 1989, making her 33 years old today. She is not only an award-winning DJ, but she is also a woman of many roles. She is an entrepreneur, professional poker player, tattoo artist, piercer, and Web3 advocate.
Relationship Status:
She is married to Mark Thompson, also a professional DJ. After knowing each other since 2015, the DJ couple tied the knot on July 23, 2020, at the country’s famous surfing town La Union through a civil wedding officiated by Mayor Menchie de Guzman.
Career in the Music Industry:
Before Patty Tiu became a DJ, she was working eight (8) hours a day in an office setup. She eventually landed a job as a Public Relations/Marketing for a DJ music studio where her interest in disc jockeying started. She then decided to commit full-time as a DJ and resigned from her regular job.
In 2011, Patty Tiu and Kat DJ formed the dynamic duo Deuce Manila. They became the first female DJ duo in the country to win the Manila Mix Off in 2012 and had the privilege to open for world-renowned DJ David Guetta.
Deuce Manila rose to fame when the local scene embraced female DJs as performers. However, the two parted ways in 2017 and built their careers individually.

She was also named the Best DJ for Electronic Dance Music at the Aliw Awards in 2019 and 2020. Patty Tiu was also featured in the recently concluded most popular Dance Music Festival in Mindanao, the SummerFrolic event in Mati City, Davao Oriental. She was seen performing alongside world-renowned international DJ Bonka, Marnik, Standerwick, and Sandro Silva.
Battle with Cancer:
The veteran DJ and Web3 advocate revealed in an interview that she was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 2011, the same year she started her career as a DJ. She refused to undergo chemotherapy but she has undergone major surgeries. Patty Tiu kept her condition from the public eye and continued with her performances.
In January 2023, Patty Tiu announced in a social media post that she is retiring from the DJ scene, citing that her body can’t take it anymore. Although Patty Tiu already announced her retirement, she has been spotted performing in some events.
Patty Tiu will focus on more important things and will dedicate her remaining years to making a positive impact on society. One of them is mentoring new generations of DJs and educating Filipinos in the Web3 world.

Patty Tiu takes on an exciting role as she immersed herself in the exciting world of Web3. She is one of the founders of Filipinas NFT, a group of Filipina artists, creators, and collectors who aim to support women in the Web3 space. Their goal is to help Filipinas start their journey in the male-dominated industry of Web3.
As a Web3 advocate and pioneer in the Philippines, she was named as co-founder and partnerships and communications head of After Midnight Media, a company that specializes in events management, particularly in Web3.
She is a proud member of Tier One Alliance, an incubator program of gaming and entertainment company Tier One Entertainment. Alliance gathers creators, influencers, and personalities and helps them become important voices in the Web3 industry.
The popular Filipina artist is also the Public Relations Officer of XOVOX Labs, a game development studio that focuses on creating fun games and learning materials that can help educate Filipinos about Metaverse.
Additionally, Patty Tiu was appointed as the partnerships and communications head of Nekoin Protocol, an ecosystem for digital asset storage that bridge the gap between Web 2.0 and Web 3.0.
