Myrtle Ramos’ Profile Bio:

Myrtle Ramos is the founder and CEO of multi-awarded companies Block Tides and PlaceWar. A pioneer of Web3 in the Philippines, Myrtle Ramos has established herself as a notable figure in the space.

She is an entrepreneur and angel investor who has helped multiple companies scale their businesses. She is a philanthropist who aims to make a positive impact through innovation.

Myrtle Ramos, or Myrtle Anne Ramos, was born on July 31 and resides in the National Capital Region.

She is a Draper University graduate with a Diploma of Education in Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship. Aside from managing her companies, she also serves as an advisor to numerous Blockchain and Tech companies.

Life Before Web3:

Before Myrtle Ramos became a prominent personality in Web3, she previously worked at various Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies and tech firms.

She was a Customer Service Representative at Stream Global Services, a Technical Support Representative at TTEC and Comcast, a Technical Support Adviser at Apple, a Sales Associate at GoDaddy, and a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst at Support.com.

Journey to Blockchain:

Myrtle Ramos was initially skeptical about blockchain technology, noting that not many people knew about the concept. After leaving her previous work, she took a leap of faith and joined Inmusik, a blockchain-based music streaming platform, as Investor Relations.

Working at Inmusik, Myrtle Ramos has been exposed to blockchain technology. She has worked with venture capitalists and business leaders in the industry. She met an entrepreneur from Singapore who eventually became her business partner.

It allowed Myrtle Ramos to host a “Blockchain Innovation Tour” where they help nurture blockchain ideas.  She later became the director at Asia Token Fund Group.

Bridging the Gap Through Block Tides:

Myrtle Ramos left her work and established Block Tides in 2016. This is in response to the lack of attendance, engagement, and organization she observed at blockchain events she attended. Recognizing this gap, she took the initiative to create Block Tides to address these issues.

Myrtle Ramos studied different aspects of marketing and wanted to provide a complete range of services to Block Tide’s clients. She aimed to make Block Tide a one-stop shop for all their marketing needs.

Block Tides is now a leading Public Relations and Marketing Company in Southeast Asia. It has catered to a wide-ranging clientele from various sectors, including Blockchain, Decentralized Finance (DeFi), Non-fungible Token (NFT), Metaverse, Artificial Intelligence (AI), IoT (Internet of Things), and Gaming Finance (GameFi).

Block Tides has a proven track record of hosting over 100 successful Fintech and Blockchain summits in Asia. They have served over 500 Blockchain, Web3, and Crypto companies and projects, both local and international. Furthermore, Block Tides is notable for raising over $50 million for businesses and startups.

Founding of PlaceWar:

PlaceWar was inspired by Axie Infinity, a game that uses blockchain technology. It’s known for its play-to-earn (P2E) model, where players can earn real-world income by playing the game and selling their Axies or the rewards they earn.

Unlike other regular P2E games, PlaceWar collaborates with gamers, brands, and blockchain enthusiasts. They integrate battle and creation and make sure that both parties, players, and creators, will receive incentives to support them.

PlaceWar is not only a game but a community where members can participate in the decision-making process.  Through PlaceDAO, a decentralized governance body of PlaceWar,  players can vote on proposals they support, winners of creator campaigns, admission of new designs, or even the rules of a new season.

Myrtle Ramos also co-founded Asia Token Fund. This platform and ecosystem is globally recognized as the first of its kind, which is dedicated to Security Tokens, Investment Tokens, portfolio management, STO (Security Token Offerings), and the broader blockchain industry.

Her remarkable achievements extend to the Grand Winner Canopus Award at the Vega Awards IAA and being named one of the 115 Most Inspirational Women of Web3 and the Metaverse 2022 by Unstoppable Wow 3.

Additionally, she received the Gold Stevie Award for Company of the Year for Advertising, Marketing & Public Relations in 2022.

PlaceWar also won the NFT Innovation Rising Star Grand Award at the TADS Awards and has received nominations for awards like Rising Women in Crypto Wirex and Crypto Media Asia and Women in Blockchain by CryptoAwards2022.
