MrBeast is Not the Only One Who Builds Wells in Africa

The online community was all grateful for the latest philanthropic activities conducted by Jimmy Donaldson, also known as MrBeast, building wells in Africa. Still, his statement caught the attention of the Hive community.

In the viral video posted by MrBeast on YouTube, which already garnered more than 44 million views a day after it was posted online, MrBeast claimed, “And if no one else is, we’re going to do it.” This kind of statement received some mixed reactions among netizens, especially from the Hive community, who knew for sure that somebody else was already building wells in Africa.

One of the most vocal supporters of the Hive community, the 3SpeakTV account on Twitter debunks MrBeast’s claim that he is the only one building wells in Africa.

According to 3SpeakTV, the HiveGhana community has also installed 13 wells in Ghana to date and does not profit a dime off it. The free drinking water through the Hive Borehole project is funded with decentralized money raised by communal on-chain voting.

A Twitter user explained that MrBeast was not claiming that he’s not the only one building wells in Africa, but 3Speak explained further that maybe it doesn’t sound like it, but it doesn’t give credit to others in this field, making honorable efforts to do the same thing while saying “If no one else (doing it), someone has to”

Twitter user @vickoly also stated that the Hive Ghana community head had been consistently involved in the humanitarian act by constructing boreholes for 13 different communities in Africa.

Aside from the 3SpeakTV Twitter account calling out MrBeast that he’s not the only one building wells in Africa, some prominent members of the Hive community called the attention of MrBeast to some group of individuals who are already doing what MrBeast did in Africa.

According to Twitter user LordButterfly, if MrBeast were a cryptocurrency, he would be Hive. Fellow Twitter and Hive user Ruben Cress also added that there are people in Ghana who drill water boreholes, which are 100% funded by Hive.

Ruben Cress also noted that there are even people in Cuba who paid their electricity bills by using the Hive blockchain.

Twitter user Guruvaj also chimes in by saying MrBeast should go to Hive and try to discover how Hive could give him superpower for his content and ownership, and sooner he will realize that he is an immortal one.

Meanwhile, going back to MrBeast’s philanthropy work in Africa, according to their official website, Beast Philanthropy exists to leverage the power of social media platforms to raise funds to alleviate hunger, homelessness, and unemployment.

Beast Philanthropy will provide life-changing grants, assistance, and monetary and non-monetary gifts to individuals and families.

MrBeast started his philanthropy works in June 20217 when he received his first YouTube sponsorship deal of $10,000; not wanting to keep the money for himself, he agreed to the sponsorship deal with one condition: he would give away all the money to which the sponsor agreed.

The philanthropy campaign of MrBeast dubbed “Water is Life” aims to provide clean water, and he is committed to making this valuable resource accessible to more communities around the world by funding and building water wells that will provide clean and safe drinking water to tens of thousands of people across the globe.
