According to the first Muslim Senator, since former Sen. Santanina Rasul ended her tenure in 1995, the government is still too conventional; it’s like we’re still in the 1950s.

Sen Robin Padilla noted that everything in the Philippine government is still manual, so exposure to blockchain technology will really help us a lot. The transactions will be faster, and if they are fast, there’s progress.

“That’s the sign there is progress, so if we do this if the government adopts this and we go digital, our businesses will benefit, too. I said earlier that global power is no longer military, but technology,” Sen. Robin Padilla said.

The Senator, who garnered one of the highest votes in national elections with 26.6 million votes during the 2022 election, reiterated further that if we here in the Philippines stick to being conventional and not technologically advanced, we will be left behind, according to Sen. Robin Padilla.

The 54-year-old Robin Padilla also suggested that we Filipinos should not be reactionary but somewhat proactive. Sen. Padilla indicated that we have to accept this now.

The Muslim lawmaker chairs the Senate Committee on Cultural Communities and Muslim Affairs; he will serve for six years in the Philippine Senate.
