Alexander Paul Quinit, also known as Alex Quinit, is the co-founder and chief technology officer of Twala, a startup founder, and a certified blockchain expert. is from Cavite, Calabarzon, Philippines. Alex is a highly experienced IT professional in blockchain, artificial intelligence, and web development. 

The veteran blockchain expert Alex Quinit specializes in backend development and has worked on several projects over the years, including blockchain self-sovereign identities, machine learning models, and Artificial Intelligence chatbots. The startup he co-founded, Twala, is a DOST-funded and blockchain-powered digital identity and digital signature platform.

Educational Background and Certifications

Alex Quinit holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, earned in 2013-2017. Alex also secured a Certified Blockchain Expert certification from UnionBank of the Philippines in November 2019, showcasing his commitment to technological advancements.

Professional Experience and Projects

Alex Quinit has a passion for backend development and has navigated through various projects over the years. Alex has been essential in developing the Irene artificial intelligence assistant, an open-source server application handling requests and webhooks from multiple accounts and services since June 2018. 

Alex also enhanced the Backpropagation Algorithm in Neural Networks, as demonstrated in his thesis paper from 2016 to 2017. He was the Chief Technology Officer at Twala in August 2019, where he co-founded this blockchain-based startup in the Philippines. 

Beyond Twala, Alex Quinit has also been the Chief Technology Officer at Vulcanic Labs since March 2023. Vulcanic Labs is dedicated to manifesting innovative ideas into reality with world-class engineering for visionaries worldwide. Adding to his portfolio, Alex has also served as the Blockchain & Backend Engineering Director at POLKER since July 2020. POLKER is the first blockchain-based free-to-play/play-to-earn online NFT Poker game.

Alex Quinit’s role involves utilizing Unreal Engine 5 for an immersive and powerful gaming experience, with Polker Early Access already live on Windows and mobile versions in development. His professional journey includes being a freelance senior software engineer at fastfwd in 2023, a premium digital agency specializing in websites, internet applications, and mobile apps.

The startup co-founder’s earlier experiences include serving as a Freelance Chief Technology Officer at CryptoPays, Senior Full Stack Developer, and Senior Blockchain Developer at Appsolutely, Inc. in 2021. Alex was also a former Lead Developer and Senior Blockchain Developer at Winterwind Software Services, a Canadian-based company with a global team specializing in UI design, web development, and mobile app development.

Alex Quinit’s earlier roles include being a full-stack developer at New Oriental Club88 Corporation, a BPO company catering to foreign clients, and a full-stack developer at Wtech Solutions Inc. He also gained valuable experience as an Associate Software Engineer at Accenture and started his career as an Intern Web Developer at Emerson Network Power.

Alexander Paul Quinit is the Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Twala, a blockchain-based startup in the Philippines. Twala is an app that allows you or your customers to quickly sign legally binding documents (e.g., lease agreements, contracts of employment, sales contacts, and more) online using any laptop or smartphone.

Twala is an innovative platform offering secure and tamper-proof digital signature solutions, digital identity management, and intelligent document handling for businesses and governments. The DOST-funded project also collaborated with the Supreme Court of the Philippines to provide inputs in their ongoing work to draft rules to allow electronic notarization in the country.

The innovative Philippine-based platform Twala was co-founded by Alex Quinit and Jeffrey Reyes, the company’s CEO. Also involved in the Twala project is another Filipino entrepreneur and MedHyve co-founder, Nigel Lirio, who served as Twala’s product manager.

Power Mac Center and Twala Collaboration Project

In November 2023, PowerMac Center, a technology solutions provider and the premier Apple reseller in the Philippines partnered with Twala. The company aligns with PowerMac Center’s vision to transition from conventional paper-based workflows to a more efficient digital process.

The integration of Twala’s digital document management system, leveraging AI and blockchain technologies, is poised to streamline and fortify Power Mac Center’s document processes. This collaboration is geared towards advancing operational efficiency by reducing paperwork and ensuring the utmost security of digital documents.
