Professor Reacts on Sen. Risa Hontiveros Not Clapping on Pres. Marcos SONA

A university professor from La Salla, Professor Antonio Contreras reacted on the non-reaction of Sen. Risa Hontiveros, one of the member of the Senate Minority. The gestures of Sen. Risa Hontiveros was received positively the critics of the Marcos administration.

During the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Bongbong Marcos it can be seen that Senator Risa Hontiveros did not applaud or clap when Chief Executive was introduced and even during the actual speech of the President. 




Netizens took the attentions of many netizens some them supported the lone lawmaker from the opposition who won last 2022 national and local election, but most of netizens criticized her for her action during the first SONA of PBBM. 

Some netizens praises Hontiveros gestures and even the mainstream media allegedly sensationalized the Twitter trending topics involving the gestures of Sen. Risa. 

One of the critics of Sen. Risa Hontiverso is no other than veteran La Salle Professor and political analyst Antonio Contreras who took to social media to air his concerns with the gestures of Hontiveros. 

According to Professor Antonio Contreras, Sen. Risa Hontiversos’ gestures of not clapping during the SONA of Pres. Bongbong Marcos is a sign of political immaturity. 

Granted that she is an opposition, how can Hontiveros not at least applaud the move for cheaper medicines and regional specialty hospitals, to think that she ran on a platform of health. 

Contreras added further that how can she not be happy with free land to landless agriculturists or to promise to defend every square inch of our territory. 

The La Salle Professor then ended his statement by saying that Sen. Risa Hontiveros is indeed a disappointment.

Not clapping is a sign of political immunity. 

Well, it is good to know that while she refused to clap when the President was introduced, that she applauded some parts of his SONA. 

After all, and granted that she is opposition, how can she be not at least applaud the move for cheaper medicines and regional specialty hospitals, to think she ran on a platform of health?

How can she not be happy with free land to landless agriculturists? Or to promise to defend every square inch of our territory?

Hey Risa. This time, you are a disappointment.
