CSE Results List of Passers:

The CSE Results for August 2023 or the Civil Service Examination Results are expected to be released on Friday, November 3, 2023. Aside from the CSE List of Passers for Professional and Sub-Professional Levels, we will also provide the Top 10 Passers or Top 10 Examinees.

Based on the data provided by the Civil Service Commission, a total of 245,293 combined examinees took the August 2023 Civil Service Examination (CSE). This number is divided into 304,247 examinees for the Professional Level and 41,046 in the Sub-Professional Level.

The Civil Service Exam or the Career Service Exam-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) is open to all Filipino citizens 18 years of age and older who want to work in the government.

The Examination was administered by the Civil Service Commission (CSC), a government agency responsible for the policies, plans, and programs concerning all civil service employees.

The Civil Service Exam was conducted last August 20, 2023. It was conducted at testing centers from all CSC Regional Offices, including the National Capital Region (NCR), Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON/MIMAROPA, Bicol, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, SOCCSKSARGEN, CARAGA, Cordillera Administrative Region and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Summary of CSE Results for August 2023:

Verification of Rating:

All examinees of the August 2023 CSE-PPT, either passed or failed, can generate their individual test results using the Online Civil Service Exam Results Generation System (OCSERGS) by November 2023.

Note also that no rating report shall be mailed to individual examinees. Examinees are advised to accurately encode/fill in the required data in the corresponding fields under the personal information and examination details.

Expected CSE Results Release Date:

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) hinted at when to release the official results of the CSE. As per CSC’s Examination Announcement No. 2 series of 2023, the August Civil Service Exam results will be released approximately on Friday, November 3, 2023.

Although a date was already given, the CSC reminded every examineer that the results may be released earlier or later than the target release date with or without prior notice.

CSE-PPT Examination Coverage:

The August 2023 CSE-PPT, both for Professional and Sub-Professional Levels, covered the following topics:

Professional (Prof) – in English and Filipino

  • Numerical Ability (Basic Operations; Word Problems)
  • Analytical Ability (Word Association – identifying assumptions and conclusions; Logic; Data Interpretation)
  • Verbal Ability (Grammar and Correct Usage; Vocabulary; Paragraph Organization; Reading Comprehension)

Sub-Professional Level (SubProf) – in English and Filipino

  • Numerical Ability (Basic Operations; Word Problems)
  • Clerical Ability (Filing; Spelling)
  • Verbal Ability (Grammar and Correct Usage; Vocabulary; Paragraph Organization; Reading Comprehension)

Regarding the number of items, a total of 170 items in 3 hours and 10 minutes for the Professional Level, while 165 items in 2 hours and 40 minutes for the Sub-Professional Level.

The CSC advises all the CSE-PPT applicants to come to the Examination Center one hour before the test. Based on CSC, the passing score of all examinees shall obtain an 80% general rating to pass the examination.

Last CSE Exam held on March 2023, a total of 54,478 out of 331,816 (16.4%) examinees hurdled the Professional Level exams, while 9,942 out of 49,791 (19.97%) hurdled the subprofessional career service exams.
